Technology training for enterprise teams

Training that sticks, taught by someone who still builds.

I am Erik Gross - a working software architect and CTO, and a 35-year educator. I help enterprise L&D teams turn AI and technical training into skills people actually use on the job - and give you the evidence to show it worked.

The problem

You trained everyone on AI. Be honest - did anything actually change?

You did what you were supposed to do. You bought the licenses. You put a literacy course in front of people. You ran the workshops. And if you are honest, you can't really say it changed how anyone works. Are they even using it? Is it helping? Meanwhile leadership has stopped asking "did people attend?" and started asking "what measurably changed?" - and you are the one on the hook for the answer.

Here is the part that needs to be said out loud: that is not because your training was bad. It is because a workshop, on its own, was never going to do it. Most training is booked as an event to check a box, and then everyone is surprised when the behavior does not stick. The problem was never really the training. It was everything around it that nobody set up.

Who this is for

My services are a fit for you if...

  • You are responsible for L&D, talent development, or technical enablement at a company that has to get AI right, fast.
  • You have run AI or tech training that got good satisfaction scores and changed very little.
  • You are being asked to prove impact, not attendance - and you are not sure how.
  • Your people are quietly nervous that AI is coming for their jobs, and you have to train them on it anyway.
  • You want a senior instructor who still builds the things they teach, not a facilitator reading slides.

If a few of those hit home, we should talk. I have spent 35 years helping people in exactly that spot.

The approach

The fix is not a better workshop. It is setting up the conditions that make training stick.

Skills transfer when a few things are true at once: the training is built for your people's real work, they practice by doing rather than watching, what they learn gets reinforced instead of forgotten by Friday, their managers back it up, and someone actually measures whether behavior changed. Miss those and even great content evaporates. Get them in place and ordinary training starts to stick.

That is how I work. Because I still architect and build software today, I teach from current practice on your actual stack and workflows - not generic slideware a platform course could hand you. Because I have taught for more than three decades, it lands. And because every engagement ends in a retrospective, you leave with a before-and-after picture you can take to leadership.

I will also tell you the truth: I am one strong piece of this, not the whole answer. The reinforcement and manager support that make training stick are things we design together. That honest collaboration is exactly why our work together will succeed.

How it works

A simple, proven path - built to make it stick, not just to deliver it.

Every engagement is collaborative and built around your team. Here's what working together looks like.

Discovery & scoping call

We talk through your goals, audience, and constraints to define what success looks like.

Proposal

You get a clear, tailored proposal covering scope, format, outcomes, and logistics.

Pre-work

I meet with sponsors and the leaders of the trainees to ground the program in real needs.

Curriculum approval

We align on the curriculum and materials before delivery, so there are no surprises.

Training delivery

Engaging, hands-on delivery, in person or virtual, that keeps your people learning and doing.

Retrospective and evidence

We review what changed together, capture a before-and-after picture of behavior, and identify what to reinforce next - so you have a straight, credible answer when leadership asks "did it work?"

Erik Gross
About Erik

A working architect who happens to be a lifelong teacher.

I have spent enough time with L&D leaders to know the spot you are in: told to make AI adoption happen, held responsible for the result, and not handed the conditions that actually drive it. I have spent 35 years helping people close exactly that kind of gap.

I've spent more than 35 years building software as an engineer, architect, and CTO, and just as long teaching it. That combination is the whole point: I bring current, hands-on practice into the room, and decades of instruction make it clear and usable for your people.

I co-founded The Tech Academy, a software-developer boot camp, served as a Senior Instructor at Pluralsight delivering training to Fortune 500 teams, and have led AI enablement and governance training for major enterprises. I care most about one thing: that your people leave more capable and more confident than they arrived.

I run a lean practice with a support team that handles production and logistics, so my time goes to your content and your people - and I create all of the content myself.

A fair warning

I am probably not your person if...

You want a one-off workshop you can check off and forget, a self-paced library your team will never open, or a promise that a single training will fix adoption on its own. I do not sell that, because it does not work - and I would rather tell you now.

I am a strong fit if you want training built for your people and your stack, taught by someone who still builds, and set up so the learning actually holds - with evidence to prove it.

Let's make your next AI or tech training the one that finally sticks.

Tell me what you are trying to achieve and we will figure out whether I am the right fit. Discovery calls are free and no-pressure.
